SEATTLE SOUND Dave Ruslander c. 2000 ========================== Seagulls pick clams from the beach Then drop them on my roof to crack open a tasty morsel These gulls are pretty smart for dumb birds, using my roof as a clam opener. They screech all day With their clam sorties Cathunk, another smart clam on my roof. wind carries sea lions calls I hear pelicans splashing for food My what a wonderfully noisy place My home here on Seattle Sound Calm soothing water, pelicans chatting, Sea Lions cry, wind gusting, and gulls dropping clams Fog starts to roll in as the sun sets And burns off in the morning Unless we have rain Even in fog I hear Cathunk cathunk The splash of pelicans The calls of sea lions I like the sound It let's me know All is right with my world ======== ========
